If you are looking for a good family dog, consider one of the hunting breeds. If you already own one you don’t need to read this! My husband and son hunt using our Vizsla pointers, Abby and Peaches. The intelligence and loyalty astounds me.. They even achieved couch status in the living room, much to my chagrin.

As an all-round good family dog, the hunting breeds are hard to beat.

The Sporting dog breeds have tremendous popularity as family pets; just think Golden Retriever or Labrador. For the most part, all hunting dogs have similar qualities that fit well with family life:

 Will the Goldendoodle be the choice pick for the Obama family, who’ll soon be residing in the White House?  Well, its quite possible.  Featured on Entertainment Tomight as being “hypo-allergenic”……….if the Obama’s fall for THAT gimic,  the Golden Retriever club will be seething in glistening red when they see the beautiful Goldendoodle dog become a First Family pet!

Since 1999, the Goldendoodle dog has been blasted by dog fanciers, purebred fanatics and others as being nothing more than a high priced, designer mutt.  As a Goldendoodle breeder since 1999,  I’ve always known them to be entirely more than what many fanatics considered them to be.   I always said that those who made hateful comments about the Goldendoodle dog,  never met one nor have they ever owned one.

There comes a time in most home families when the children get a bit older and their dog or teddy is no longer the best thing in the world to play with, every new friend or existing friend your children make seems to have a cute little dog, and its only a matter of time before your children are going to start pestering you for one. So what should you look for is your serious about getting a family dog?

Is the Goldendoodle dog a good match for myself or my family? Many people seeking a family pet for the first time have many questions to ask themselves BEFORE considering a Goldendoodle. The first question is, can I afford to raise and own a Goldendoodle ? The second question would be, what is my lifestyle ? Many people do not take their lifestyle into consideration before adding a pet to their home.

It is so very important for anyone that is considering getting themselves a dog or already has one, to really understand the severity and absolute necessity that it is that you train your dog appropriately and that you do it quickly. There is an enormous amount of information available over the internet and you will really be so surprised to see just how much information on there is available and for free. Dog training schools tend to be pretty expensive so if your budget will absolutely not allow for such as expense then you should not panic because by doing a good amount of research, you yourself can actually gain the knowledge that it will take in order to properly train your dog. It will be a very exciting experience for you both and the dog will respond fairly quickly as well. You will be so shocked to see just how happy it makes your dog when he actually does something that you have asked of him. You yourself will be amazed at how quickly they pick up and start doing all of these new and exciting things that they have been appropriately taught by either you or a professional trainer. You can finally have that perfect dog for your family, that you have really always wanted.
